Devotion July 4th

By: Pastor Dennis

2 Cor 12:7-9 “7. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9. But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’”

I hear consistent complaints by people who have asked God to heal their pains and nothing happens. They immediately conclude that God must not be listening to them or maybe they are undeserving of healing. The Apostle Paul faced this dilemma head on and came out a better man for it.

What We Should Know

Paul acknowledged God’s explanation that his strength comes through his weakness or endurance and he says in vs.10, “For when I am weak,  then I am strong.”
