Daniel 1:8 “But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.”

As Daniel grew up, he matured not only from a physical stance but also from a Spiritual one. He was faithful to God and lived that faith in spite of anything and everything the world used to block his path. God gave him amazing intelligence and a strong will to follow God’s teaching within every aspect of his life.

What We Need to Know

As Daniel was enslaved, he was pressured by Nebuchadnezzar to convert to his pagan worship but Daniel, in spite of the pressure, held firm to his faith in God.  He did not argue. He simply lived his faith and used the gifts God had given him to vouch for his trustworthiness and respect. By displaying his faith through his life-style, Daniel earned the respect of the king and was appointed to serve as governor over his kingdom.
