John 19:30

 “When He had received the drink, Jesus said ‘It is finished,’ With that, He bowed His head and gave up His Spirit.”

I often think of Jesus during His tenure among us as walking around with a list of all the prophesies which had to be completed for His plan to be accomplished. Then, once all were completed, He could return to His throne and bless us with the Holy Spirit. He often made the comment during His time on earth that “My time has not yet come.” That was because “the list” was not yet complete.

What We Should Know

As Jesus suffered and died on that cross, the list was completed. His time had come and He acknowledged it with those final words “It is finished.”
