Phil 1:23,24 “For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better, 24. Nevertheless to remain to the flesh is more needful for you.”

In this section of Scripture (vs.12-30), Paul, who is in prison, declares that the he has two options available to him. First, they could execute him, and he would immediately go to be with the Lord, or they could let him go and he would continue preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ  and converting unbelievers. Either way is a win-win proposition in his judgement.

What We Should Know

In I Corinthians 10:13, Paul said that no matter what this world may put on us to bear, God has given us an escape. The ultimate escape is heaven just as he described in today’s Scripture in Philippians. We must hold on to that promise.
